JOSE “JOEY” ACUÑA JR, Democratic
OCCUPATION: School Board Member

Jose “Joey’’ Acuña is a local School Boardmember, Healthcare advocate, and longtime community leader who has the experience needed to deliver results for our district and fight for positive change.

Joey is strongly supported by our outgoing Assemblymember, Eduardo Garcia, and by former Assemblymember Manuel Perez because of his experience, values, and work ethic.

As our Assemblymember, Joey will fight to:

Help families who are struggling with rising costs.
Address homelessness by focusing on mental health and housing.
-Bring a much-needed Cal State Campus to Riverside County.
Raise wages and help local industries grow and create new jobs.
Fully fund schools and improve teacher recruitment and retention.
Fight climate change, build parks, and improve air quality.

As a local School Boardmember, Joey has worked to improve graduation rates, expand after-school programs, college and career programs and support wellness programs. Professionally, Joey works as Development Manager for local Health Clinics and a grant writer for Tribes. He has also worked as a coordinator for a local after-school program.
